On Friday July 1st 2016, KCB Group Marketing and Communications Director Angela Mwirigi announced that the Bank will take a strategic direction in its motorsport sponsorship deal with the Kenya Motor Sport Federation KMSF. The shift saw the Bank step down as the title sponsor of the Kenya National Rally Championship and the Safari Rally, and instead took up a new role as the Official Banking Partner for the Rally and tittle sponsor for Kenya National Rally Autocross Championship. The first event to be held under the auspices of KCB Bank took place in Nanyuki where Azar Anwar was crowned the champion. on February 2017, the battle for the KCB Auto X glory intensified as Asad Anwar and Rehan Shah declared their intent of winning the crown in Eldoret. Lady luck smiled on Rehan who won his first ever outing ahead of Azar after a stunning performance in heat three despite lagging behind by 3 seconds. Azar who had lost points during heat one clocked 02:55:90 to finish second during the Eldoret outing. Rehan game plan was to drive faster in heat 3 and 4 and this he executed very well. The 2018 KCB Auto X championship has grown from strength to strength. From an initial ten entries to a record 40 entries, the sky is the limit for the competitors. There is a new generation drivers consisting of Sahib Omar, Kirit Rajput and Alfir Khan, Hamza Anwar Lovejyot Singh, and Shalien Mughal who are out to redefine the sport. The next KCB Autocross event will be held in Stoni Athi, on 7th October 2018.
