Head of Brokerage

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Brokerage will lead brokerage businesses, drive revenue growth, volumes, profitability and create competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement long and short-term strategies for the brokerage business including preparation of business plan and annual budgets.
• Achieve business targets in terms of volumes, market share and profits across all business segments.
• Responsible for maintaining the leadership position of Bank brokerage business in terms of market share, volumes, profits and ensure continuous growth.
• Plan and implement the development of the brokerage business to foreign/domestic institutions, corporate bodies and High Net Worth (HNW) individuals.
• Be the primary contact/focal point with Foreign institutional investors and build a strong foreign institutional customer base.
• Plan and lead the development of new service delivery channels and other tie-ups to enhance market share.
• Leverage synergies from the existing cross-border investments and spearhead expansion into the region.
• Maintain and develop excellent relationships with important customers.
• Formulate & review training programs and the on-going product/ other relevant refreshers for the brokerage team.
• Ensure compliance in line with the Banks’ policies, standards and all statutory regulations.
• Lead, manage, coach, develop and inspire direct/indirect reporting team.

The Ideal Candidate: Academic, Professional & Experience:
A. Academic & Professional Qualifications:

• A University Degree from a recognized university.
• A recognized professional certification such as Automatic Trading Systems (ATS), Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (ACSI), or an equivalent qualification.

B. Experience Requirements:
• At least eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in the financial services, brokerage, capital markets, or related sector.
• A minimum of five (5) years' experience in brokerage operations, securities trading, or capital markets activities.
• At least five (5) years' experience in managing brokerage trading operations, operational risk, and credit exposure associated with brokerage activities.
• A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a leadership or people management role, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
