KCB FC secured a vital 3-1 victory over Mombasa United in a midweek FKF Premier League clash, scoring twice in the second half to claim all three points and strengthen their position near the top of the standings.

The Bankers had to fight back after Rashid Moyo gave the visitors an early lead. KCB responded through Congolese striker Assis Mambote, who finished from close range to restore parity and send the teams into the halftime break level at 1-1.

KCB returned for the second half with renewed determination, and substitute Fortune Omoto proved decisive, finding the back of the net twice to seal a comfortable 3-1 victory for the Bankers.

Speaking after the final whistle, KCB FC Head Coach Robert Matano said: “We are pleased with the result and the character the team showed, especially after conceding early. The players remained focused, responded well and took their chances in the second half. These are important three points, but we must remain consistent and continue improving as we look ahead to our next fixture.”

The victory puts KCB FC in second in the FKF Premier League standings with seven points from four matches, subject to change after Thursday's round of matches in the current campaign.

“We showed great character to come from behind and secure the three points. The focus now is on maintaining this momentum, staying disciplined and preparing well for our next challenge. Every match matters, and we know we must keep working hard to achieve our objectives this season,” said Captain Humphrey Mieno.

KCB FC will next travel to Embu County, where they will face Gor Mahia at Moi Stadium on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The Bankers will be looking to build on their midweek performance and maintain their positive start to the campaign.
