How to Use the KCB Mobile Banking App: A Full Guide for New Users

Moving money from your bank to your mobile money app, then to KPLC, then queueing for a paybill is a very familiar Kenyan routine; and at every one of those turns, you’re paying a fee. Now imagine if we could make the multiple transactions go away.

The KCB Mobile App puts your account, bills, airtime, loans and savings in one place, so most of those errands become a few taps. This guide walks you through downloading the app, setting it up, and using the features that matter most whether you are completely new to mobile banking or moving over from *522#. If you already bank with KCB on USSD, you don't need a new account: you'll register the app against your existing KCB account and set a fresh PIN for it.

What does the KCB Mobile App actually do for you

The errands that used to mean a transfer, then another transfer, then a queue paying for electricity, school fees, government services, water, airtime, sending money happen in a few taps straight from your account. You can also borrow, save, invest and manage your cards in the same place.

• Never share your PIN, password or one-time password (OTP) with anyone including someone who claims to be from KCB. KCB will never ask you for them.

•  Only download the app from the official Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

•  Lock your phone and use the app's own security features, such as biometric login where available.

•   If you notice anything suspicious, or lose your phone, contact KCB immediately through the bank's official channels to secure your account this includes telling your telco to block your SIM if you suspect a SIM swap, since that can be used to intercept your OTPs.

•  The app is registered to one device at a time and logs you out automatically after a period of inactivity both are there to protect you, not to inconvenience you.
