KCB's junior chess players delivered an impressive performance at the just-concluded Kenya National Youth Chess Championship held at Alliance Girls High School, securing a clean sweep of the podium in the Under-15 girls' category.
Bella Nashipae emerged as the national champion after claiming the gold medal, while teammate Shukri Shakira finished second to take silver. Elizabeth Cassidy completed KCB's dominance of the category by winning the bronze medal.
“This is a remarkable achievement for our young players and a testament to the hard work they have put in during training. Having all three podium positions occupied by KCB players demonstrates the strength of our junior development programme. We are proud of Bella, Shukri and Elizabeth, and we remain committed to nurturing more young talent to compete at the highest level,” noted Team Manager Isaac Babu.
The championship brought together some of the country's brightest young chess players, with KCB's stellar showing reaffirming the club's status as one of Kenya's leading institutions in youth chess development.
