KCB Scholars Gain Valuable Exposure at National Athletics Championships

KCB Foundation scholars delivered a good show at the National Athletics Championships held at the Nyayo National Stadium over the weekend, using the competition to test themselves against Kenya’s top athletes across track, field, and relays.

In the sprints, Selfa Ajiambo ran 13.06 in the women’s 100m heats before improving to 12.99 in the semis, while Anthony Lemoshira clocked 11.02 in the men’s 100m heats. Bramwel Chasala advanced to the 100m semi-finals after running 11.14 in his heat. In the 200m, Mitchelle Adaline Kimatia posted 27.11, and Charles Griffins ran 22.56, with both missing out on the semis.

In other events, Maurice Odongo finished 10th in shot put, while Vivian Chepkopus placed 11th in the 5000m semi-finals in a time of 16:26.34. In the relays, both teams reached the finals: the women’s 4x100m team (Selfa Ajiambo, Mitchelle Adaline) finished 8th in 50.72 seconds, while the men’s team (Bramwel Chasala, Anthony Lemoshira, Charles Griffins) placed 7th in 51.08.
