Senior Product Manager Investor Services

This role will be responsible for the strategic formulation and execution of custody and trustee services product offering and systems for the KCB Group entities. This involves keeping abreast of the regulatory developments, market dynamics, leading and guiding the team on the entire product development process from conceptualization, design, delivery, launch and return on investment management & tracking, as well as product monitoring and control.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Drive product monitoring and control of custody and trustee services products in liaison with Relationship Managers, Operations Managers and other relevant stakeholders. 
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and application of established policies, processes, procedures and tools to achieve optimal efficiency, compliance and cost containment.
  • Ensure the implementation and regular review of product program guides for all custody and trustee services products
  • Stakeholder management to ensure alignment on delivery of custody and trustee services 
  • Formulate effective product documentation, policies and procedures, SLA’s to effectively deliver the envisaged propositions.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews to identify areas of improvement and develop tactical plans towards achieving set risk and compliance criteria.
  • Achieve Product and e-Channels revenue target and growth as determined.
  • Responsible for the implementation and adoption of all regulatory, compliance, FATCA, Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions related requirements contained in policies, procedures and processes within Investor services unit.
  • Manage and coordinate custody and trustee services client engagement efforts across relevant business units by ensuring that individuals are clear on their contribution and expected outcomes.
  • Create product awareness within the bank through quarterly training of branches, support and business-teams in order to embed a custody and trustee services product culture.

The Person

For the above position, the ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • A master’s degree (MBA/MSc) in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the banking sector, with at least 6 years in Custody Services or Trustee Services.
  • Strong background in relationship management and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management specific to custody and trustee services.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving ability
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to identify and leverage revenue-generating opportunities.
  • High level of integrity and the courage to challenge the status quo and actions within business units when necessary.
  • Effective persuasion, management, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Creative and forward-thinking, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions.
