Head of Distribution

The Head of Distribution exists as the custodian of the Retail branch network, providing strategic and operational oversight of regional offices, sales, and channel optimization. This role ensures that the distribution network is efficient, customer-focused, and aligned with the bank’s growth and profitability objectives. 

Key Responsibilities; -

Distribution Strategy & Network Management 

  • Define and execute the bank’s branch and distribution strategy in line with Retail objectives. 
  • Provide oversight of regional offices to ensure delivery of sales and service targets. 
  • Continuously review and optimize the branch footprint and distribution model for efficiency and relevance.

 Sales & Business Growth 

  • Drive sales performance across the branch network to achieve revenue and profitability goals. 
  • Ensure alignment of distribution activities with customer acquisition and retention strategies. 
  • Monitor performance of regions and branches, recommending interventions where necessary.

Channel Optimization & Innovation 

  • Lead optimization of traditional and alternative channels to improve accessibility and customer experience. 
  • Leverage technology and digital solutions to strengthen the efficiency of distribution channels. 
  • Identify opportunities for new channels and formats to enhance market penetration.

Customer Experience & Service Excellence

  • Ensure branches consistently deliver superior customer experience and service quality. 
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement initiatives to address pain points.
  • Align distribution activities with customer-centric values and service standards.

Risk, Governance & Compliance 

  • Ensure all distribution activities comply with regulatory standards, internal policies, and risk frameworks. 
  • Identify risks related to branch and channel operations and implement mitigation measures. 
  • Provide accurate reporting on performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.

 Leadership & Talent Development 

  • Lead and mentor Regional Managers and Branch Managers to build strong leadership capacity. 
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture across the distribution network. 
  • Build talent pipelines and succession plans for sustainable distribution leadership.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • Professional Qualifications: Will be an added advantage
  • Master’s Degree is added advantage.
  • 10 years of banking operations required
  • 10 years in sales required
  • 10 years in credit required
  • 10 years in relationship management required.
