The Head of Personal Banking exists as the custodian of financial services for individual consumers, ensuring delivery of innovative, customer-centric solutions that drive growth, profitability, and market competitiveness. The role provides strategic leadership for the Personal Banking segment, overseeing product development, sales, service delivery, and risk management to meet the evolving needs of retail customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic leadership by defining and executing the Personal Banking strategy in alignment with Retail and corporate goals to drive sustainable business growth.
- Oversees product and service management to ensure offerings remain competitive, compliant, and customer-focused while promoting digital innovation.
- Achieving sales and profitability targets through customer acquisition, retention, and delivery of superior service experiences.
- Ensures strong risk and compliance management by adhering to regulatory standards and maintaining sound credit and operational controls.
- Leading and developing the Personal Banking team, fostering a high-performance culture, and engaging stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and results.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the Personal Banking strategy in alignment with overall Retail and corporate objectives.
- Drive business growth by expanding market share, deepening customer relationships, and optimizing product offerings.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to position Personal Banking as a leading provider of consumer financial services.
- Oversee development, enhancement, and delivery of personal banking products and services to meet customer needs.
- Ensure products remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with customer value propositions.
- Promote digital adoption and innovation in service channels to enhance customer experience.
- Lead sales initiatives to deliver revenue targets and profitability for the Personal Banking portfolio.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Champion superior service standards to ensure consistent, high-quality customer experiences.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Oversee credit and operational risk management within the Personal Banking portfolio.
- Implement proactive measures to safeguard the bank’s reputation and financial integrity.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and development opportunities to the Personal Banking team.
- Build a performance-driven culture that fosters accountability and collaboration.

The Ideal Candidate: Academic, Professional & Experience:
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) will be an added advantage
- Professional qualifications in Project management or business field will be an added advantage
- 10 years’ minimum experience is required, together with the following essential experience:
- 8 years’ experience in sales
- 8 years’ experience in Credit
- 6 years’ experience in Banking Operations
- 8 years’ experience in Relationship management
- 8 years’ experience in Customer Service
- 5 years’ experience managing Affluent / High Net Worth (HNW) banking segments, with accountability for portfolio performance and client relationships.
