Senior Manager, Strategy

Reporting to the Executive Head of Strategy & Investor Relations, The role holder supports the development and execution of the Group’s strategy by facilitating strategic planning across subsidiaries and business units, translating strategic opportunities into actionable initiatives, and driving execution governance through structured performance tracking. This position provides strategic advisory support, challenges business units on initiative quality and alignment, and delivers insights to enable performance improvement and transformation across the Group

Key Responsibilities; -

  • Support the development and periodic review of Group’s strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Group’s plan, financial objectives, risk appetite, macro-economic and regulatory environment.
  • Lead strategic planning workshops across subsidiaries/business units working with finance business partners to translate strategic priorities into executable initiatives, confirm feasibility, expected value, and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate prioritization and consolidation of subsidiary and functional strategic initiatives into a coherent Group portfolio.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement during strategic planning, and performance reviews to ensure buy-in, alignment and coordinated execution.
  • Translate approved strategies initiatives into clear execution roadmaps, KPIs, and milestones, to track delivery across business units.
  • Support in the creation of business cases for strategic initiatives, new products, investments, M&A, and partnerships, to justify the feasibility and value of the proposal.
  • Monitor delivery and benefits realization, tracking value delivered vs planned and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare periodic strategy papers, dashboards, and presentations to provide insights, recommendations, and status updates of performance against the plan.
  • Monitoring the market, customer, competitor, regulatory, and industry landscape to provide forward-looking insights to inform strategic choices and positioning.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
  • Professional qualifications in accounting (CPA) or financial analysis (CFA)
  • A Master's degree in a business related field is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of six years' relevant progressive managerial experience, including specific experience in the below areas:
    • Strategy, business finance or consulting
    • Strategic cycle planning
    • Business modelling and optimization
    • Quantitative analysis, conceptualization and presentations
    • Financial management
    • Stakeholder management of a diverse caliber
  • Have a strongly curious and questioning nature
  • Superior problem-solving skills
  • Self-drive, resilience and commitment to excellence
  • High level of agility and ability to learn new skills
