SAHL Banking Cluster Manager, Great Rift, Central, Eastern, Nyanza

The Sahl Banking Cluster Manager is responsible for driving the performance, growth, and operational excellence of Sahl (Islamic) banking across a defined cluster of branches

Key Responsibilities; -

 1. Sahl Banking Business Strategy & Development

      Work with assigned cluster of branches to identify and pursue business development opportunities in line with Islamic banking principles and market potential.

      Monitor and analyze product performance metrics across branches and recommend improvement actions.

      Partner with Business Functions within the assigned cluster to provide excellent customer relationship management to Sahl Banking customers.

2. Operational Support & Service Excellence

      Provide operational & compliance guidance and support to branch staff on Sahl banking procedures, policies, and systems.

      Coordinate with the Sahl Product Support Manager to resolve product or system issues affecting branch operations.

      Facilitate feedback from branches and customers to improve Sahl products and service delivery.

      Implement appropriate relationship and customers management tools across the cluster.

3. Shariah Compliance & Governance

      Work closely with branch teams and Shariah Compliance to maintain adherence to approved Sahl product structures.

      Support internal reviews and audits by providing operational and compliance information as required.

4. Training, Awareness & Staff Development

      Build capacity and awareness of Islamic banking principles, processes, and product knowledge among branch staff.

      Conduct training and refresher sessions to strengthen staff competence in offering Sahl products and services.

      Promote a culture of ethical and Shariah-compliant banking across the cluster.             

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination

      Collaborate with Operations, IT, Risk, and Customer Experience teams to ensure seamless product support and issue resolution.

      Support marketing and community outreach programs to promote Sahl banking awareness and growth.

6. Reporting & Performance Tracking

      Prepare and submit cluster performance reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

      Track and report customer feedback, operational risks, and compliance matters to the Sahl Product Support Manager.

Daily Responsibilities

  •       Drive the sales, growth, and profitability of Sahl banking products within the assigned cluster.
  •       Support branches in achieving Sahl product targets for deposits, financing, and customer acquisition
  •       Ensure that customer service standards for Sahl banking are consistently met across all cluster branches.
  •       Ensure that all activities, transactions, and customer interactions within the cluster comply with Shariah-compliant banking practices.
  •       Act as the key liaison between the Sahl Product Support team and branches within the cluster.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Professional qualification in Islamic Banking Certification
  • Master’s degree - Any business related
  • At least five years’ relevant work experience with specific experience in:
  • 5 years, experience in Islamic Banking (Required). 
  • 3 years’ experience in Relationship & Portfolio Management (Required)
  • 3 years’ experience in Sales Management (Required).
  • 2 years’ experience in Stakeholder Management (Required).
  • 1 year experience in People Management (Required)
  • 3 years’ experience in Credit Operations (Desired).
  • 2 years’ experience in Banking Operations (Desired)
