Reporting to the Head of Group Enterprise Architecture, the role holder will be responsible for development of the technology architecture for capabilities across infrastructure, hardware, hosting services, network, cloud, monitoring, and security domain areas.
The role will cover planning, design, technology solutions selection and overseeing the implementation to adhere to approved designs for solutions that run organization's technological infrastructure.
The role holder will also be periodically assessing the existing capabilities, determine any changes that may be needed, and make recommendations across the covered technology domain areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for complete infrastructure planning & design across various Technology domains - security, network, voice, hardware, cloud and enterprise productivity areas.
- Drives short & long-term architecture strategy for the overall foundational technology stack [hardware and software].
- Design and develop infrastructure blueprints and roadmaps for the implementation of new solutions.
- Communicates and validates program architectures and roadmaps with infrastructure team, project management team, and technology services management teams.
- Develops long-term strategy and plans for meeting storage needs across online, archival and historical data retention needs - to meet the defined data retention, backup, and recovery methods and plans.
- Develops enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor technology platforms.
- Responsible for impact analysis and design modifications to existing systems to support new solutions.
- Planning, studying and designing a resistant security architecture for the organization
- Collaborate with Group Cybersecurity to evaluate security architectures and designs to determine the adequacy of security design and architecture proposed or provided in response to provided requirements.
- Responsible for evolution of organization's cloud computing strategy - including cloud adoption plans, cloud application designs, and cloud management, monitoring and governance framework.
- Lead the Technology aspects of identification, vetting and selection of top cloud-based solutions, cloud providers and third-party services that successfully meets the needs of the organization.
- Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques, including bulk application transfers/migration into the cloud and also leading the technology teams through cloud adoption while establishing best practices.
- Evaluate existing technology systems and provide recommendations for improvements or change.
- Review technology related business cases and support in Technology sourcing / RFPs for conformance to technology standards.
- Review strategic proposals and propose technology solutions.
- Monitor / study periodic systems capacity returns and guide on efforts to optimally utilize existing or deployment of new capacity across the technology domain areas.
- Determining the long-range strategic direction of systems not limited to hardware, software, tools, languages, and databases to be utilized by the bank.
The Person
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree: Computer Science, IT, Engineering or Technical related field.
- Professional Qualifications such as CCNA, TOGAF, ITIL, CISM, CISA, Prince2, COBIT, Cloud Architect Certifications are an added advantage.
- 10 years Technology Experience is required.
- 7 years developing architecture in a fast-paced, evolving environment and appropriately prioritizing tasks, and keeping abreast of the latest technology.
- Knowledge of Hardware Systems.
- Knowledge in Design & Build & Maintenance of Cloud Solutions.
- Knowledge of Networks - WAN & LAN design, implementation, and monitoring.
- Project Management Skills.
- Knowledge of Network Security Implementation & Design.
- Knowledge in Security Architecture.
- Knowledge of the Windows concepts, Domains, Active Directory and its concepts, interaction between hardware, operating systems, network, data center, and application software, Linux and Unix.
- Strong working knowledge of Virtualization Technologies.
- Deep experience in Microservices and building and managing container platforms.
