Application Support Specialist

The primary role of the Application Support Specialist is to administer production applications within the bank’s Technology space and ensure their availability is not compromised, adhering to a 24 x 7 x 365 accessibility model. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of experience in management of Technology systems and delivery of services with enterprise applications and provide the required level of service, system performance and functionality required to meet business objectives and customer (internal/external) expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Implement and adhere to regular systems maintenance policies and procedures, including change request mechanisms and update schedules to ensure optimum uptime and service availability.
2. Provide weekly system performance reports.
3. Create system design models, specifications, diagrams, charts, and implementation roadmaps that resonate with the strategic direction of the bank.
4. Administer the assigned Systems at Application level and connected databases, define, and optimize database structures, content and processing flows through appropriate Data Definition, Data Manipulation and Data Control Languages.
5. Perform BCM activities that ensure timely recovery of systems within the set RTO and RPO in accordance with the bank’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
6. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, and processes.
7. Adhere to the set best practice policies and procedures for business users; ensuring that there are adequate controls around that all service improvements are managed effectively and meet the needs of the organization.
8. Ensure compliance of SLAs by other system vendors.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• A professional certification in System administration certifications, in any UNIX platform / Databases /Data science.
• At least 2 years’ experience with at least:
• 2 years’ experience in Computing platforms, operating systems, and databases.
• 1 year experience in SAP and Oracle E-Business suite applications.
• 1 year experience of UNIX operating environment.
