Senior Relationship Manager Investor Services

Reporting to the Head Investor Services, the position will be responsible for providing custody services to the bank’s local and global custody clients, collective investment schemes, retirement benefits schemes and other investors, while ensuring the services are provided in compliance with the Collective Investment Schemes Regulations, Retirement Benefits Act and Regulations, and KCB policies and procedures. The position shall be responsible for sourcing, expanding and retaining existing client relationships so as to increase market share and profitability of the Custody Services offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, expand and retain existing client relationships with a focus on global custody business, so as to increase market share and profitability.
  • Ensure financial and business growth targets assigned are achieved.
  • Manage a relationship team to deliver on the assigned financial and performance targets.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and identification of repeat and new business opportunities.
  • Source, prepare tenders proposals and presentations for potential business opportunities.
  • Attend Client meetings, Annual General Meetings, new business pitches and make presentations as appropriate.
  • Ensure billing and collection of revenue for services rendered. 
  • Identify and manage the risks associated with global custody services business.
  • Ensure strong cross- selling of existing and new products to existing and new clients; and in this process, maintain effective liaison with all relevant business units in the Bank.
  • Maintain high level integrity and ethical standards – Uphold highest levels of integrity and ethical standards.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • A University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s degree and professional qualifications (CISI, TDPK) from recognized institutions will be an added advantage.
  • At least Seven (7) years’ banking experience in the Financial/banking sector, and five (5) years’ experience in Relationship Management in local and global Custody Services.
  • A track record of attaining targets for business growth and profitability in the financial services and banking sector.
  • Have an appreciation and operating knowledge of the banking industry, market, trends as well as challenges.
  • Demonstrable cross-cultural, people and relationship management skills, networking and negotiation skills, team motivation and leadership competence. 
  • Sound understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements of corporate governance, business, and banking operations.
