Business Manager, Regional Businesses

Reporting to the Group Regional Business Director (GRBD) this position is responsible for providing assistance for both the day-to-day management of the workload as well as in any strategic and business matters, by providing guidance and sound advice on any matters pertinent, prioritizing and managing issues that have escalated to the GRBD and keep abreast of any relevant developments or issues that impact Regional Businesses. This role also provides day to day performance monitoring and tracking of the Regional Businesses through liaison with the individual Business Leadership reporting to GRBD.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the reporting cycles for the GRBD, including but not limited to monthly GMC reports, EXCO papers and Board packs while ensuring adherence to reporting requirements, quality, and timelines.
  • Manage GRBD, agenda, prioritizing pressing matters that require direct attention and addressing any challenges or issues that can be resolved without further escalation, serving as a gatekeeper to the GRBD, releasing his time to key and critical matters and relevant stakeholder engagements.
  • In liaison with the Regional Business Leadership ensure the provision, management and maintenance of comprehensive business performance and status reporting with robust key performance / risk indicators and tracking thereof.
  • Provide a swift and efficient end to end solutions to customer’s complaints that have been escalated to the GRBD, ensuring efficient resolution, promoting customer service excellence, and driving the client centricity agenda across the Regional Businesses.
  • Manage and drive key projects and initiatives critical to GRBD, collaboratively across the regional businesses, ensuring these are executed as per plan and create the expected impact. 
  • Provide support in the preparation of key events and forums attended by the GRBD by preparing all the key points that are to be addressed and compiling the required reports, ensuring alignment with key strategic imperatives, and driving the right agenda in each event or forum.
  • Manage a strong network of people that are key for the GRBD and the Regional Businesses, through the sound understanding of the Group and external context where the Group operates, in order to ensure that for any new initiative, challenge or opportunity the right people are identified and connected.
  • Act as a sound advisor and consultant to the GRBD through the sound understanding of the Regional Businesses context and strategy, unpacking key challenges and/or opportunities, options and choices and potential implications. 
  • Participate in key meetings related to strategic initiatives, in order to keep updated on any relevant developments or risks, providing continuous feedback to the GRBD, highlighting any areas that require his/her direct intervention.
  • In liaison with the Regional Businesses Leadership ensure a robust monitoring, controls, business continuity, governance, and risk management environment for the KCB Group Regional Businesses.
  • Support GRBD in any relevant matters, in order to drive the function’s agenda and achieve strategic objectives for the organization.

 

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Business Analysis/Project Management/Monitoring and Evaluation/Strategic Management will be added advantage.
  • 8 years' experience in Business Performance Analysis with at least 3 years’ experience in Strategic Planning.
  • 4 years’ experience in Data Management & Report Writing.
  • 3 years’ experience Managing Teams.
  • Exceptional Stakeholder and People Management skills.
