Senior Finance Manager, Integrated Sustainability & Regulatory Reporting

Reporting to the Head Group Finance Reporting and controls, the role is responsible for driving the group financial regulatory and sustainability reporting. Coordination and collating of integrated reporting inputs, driving improvements in annual integrated reports, timely design, review, approval, and publishing of regulatory, and group integrated reports in compliance with annual reporting calendar, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Group quarterly, and annual regulatory, and integrated reports in full compliance with regulatory, statutory and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Ensuring quarterly and annual integrated reporting complies with the Group financial reporting framework.
  • Implementation and driving Group compliance in ESG reporting, TFCD, GRI and CBK climate reporting requirements.
  • Monitor country adoption and drive the Group towards implementation of IFRS S1, and IFRS S2, on disclosure requirements on sustainability reporting, and climate related financial disclosures.
  • Coordination external review of sustainability reporting, review and approval and subsequent consolidation into the annual integrated report.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual board papers on Group financial performance and corresponding regulatory filings and publications for timely review and approval.
  • Submission and follow up with regulators on quarterly and annual financial reports. Filling group financial returns to regulators (CMA, NSE, CBK) on time.
  • In liaison with corporate communications, ensure timely publishing of the group quarterly financial results, and design and publishing of annual integrated report.
  • In liaison with corporate communication, and investor relations, review publications to ensure financial information aligns to approved financial statements.
  • Review of newly issued IFRSs, assessment of the reporting disclosure requirements thereof and drafting of implementation roadmap for review and approval.
  • Assessment of internal technical capacity gaps on meeting requirements on new IFRSs and providing recommendations for sourcing of external technical support

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in any business related field from a recognized institution.
  • A qualified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance management, including specific experience in the following areas:
  • Financial and management reporting
  • Preparation of integrated reports
  • Preparation of sustainability reports
  • IFRS reporting
  • Financial analysis and performance management
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Have strong competencies in risk, compliance and finance systems.
