KCB SHINE AT SOYA AWARDS, COME IN SECOND IN LEAGUE PLAYOFFS

It was a double joy for KCB Women’s Volleyball team as it was crowned the Best Female Sports Team of the Year with Head Coach, Japheth Munala being named the Best Coach of the Year during the 2022 Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA) held last week in Nairobi. 

Munala was feted for leading the team to clinch the African Club Championship title last year in Tunisia. The bankers are the first Kenyan club to win the trophy since Kenya Prisons in 2013.

Separately, the team missed out on the 2022 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league title coming in second behind champions Kenya Pipeline. They lost 3-1 against the champions in the final match after beating DCI 3-2 and Kenya Prisons 3-0 in the showdown that came to an end on Sunday afternoon at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.
