KCB RFC to Host Kabras in Top-of-the-Table Kenya Cup Clash

Former Kenya Cup champions KCB RFC will face defending champions Kabras Sugar RFC this weekend when the Sugar Men visit KCB Sports Club as the league heads to the wire.

Both sides head into the match unbeaten this season and will be keen to maintain their clean form. Kabras come into the fixture on top of the Kenya Cup standings with 45 points, having recorded their 50th straight league win against Nondescripts RFC last weekend. Kabras’ last loss in the competition was in 2022.

KCB sit second on the table with 43 points, just two behind Kabras, setting up a mouth-watering duel between the league’s top two sides. Over the weekend, KCB overpowered Menengai Oilers 25-15 to climb second in the standings.

KCB Chess Team Braces for Kisumu Chess Open

KCB Chess Club will be in action this weekend as the team heads to Kisumu for the Kisumu Chess Open Championship, set for March 7–8, 2026.

The side enters the tournament on a positive note following a strong outing in Eldoret last month, when KCB was named the Best Corporate Team. Joyce Nyaruai claimed the Ladies Category, while Elizabeth Cassidy finished 1st Runners-Up in the same event.

A notable addition to the squad is Emmanuel Egesa (Elo 2102) from Uganda, who will be representing KCB Chess Club at the Kisumu Open and adds an international touch to the team’s campaign.

KCB to Face Nairobi United in Mid-week Clash

KCB FC are set to play Nairobi United FC this Wednesday at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in a SportPesa Premier League fixture.

The Bankers are currently eighth on the table with 32 points from 22 matches. They have posted mixed results in their last five outings, recording two wins, two losses, and a draw. In their most recent match at Kasarani Stadium, KCB edged AFC Leopards 1–0.

Speaking ahead of the match, head coach Robert Matano said Nairobi United would be a tough opponent but expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness as they looked to pick up all three points.
